I talked to Lesley

and Doug's oldest granddaughter has a tumor on her pituitary gland. This could be a sign that she has MENS type 1 like Doug did. Lesley left a comment about it on the "I'm still here" post, a couple of posts down.

Apparently Doug was never actually tested for MENS, he had enough symptoms that they decided that's what it was without the test. Kyra's not old enough to be tested yet, they wanted to wait until she's at least 5. So now, we're all anxiously waiting for Madison's test results to come back - should be Wednesday. Then depending on the results, Kyra's geneticst will decide if she needs to be tested.

So I'm off to see what I can find out about this disease. Is there something that can be done now to minimize the effects? I don't think it's curable, but I don't know for sure.

Pray for both Madison and Kyra - and the rest of Doug's children who might also be affected by this disease.
